I was particularly impressed with the forum at the end of the day, which basically opened up discussion around the theme of the conference (which was open access) to all the participants for an impromptu conversation and discussion. I was really impressed by the way the community was not simply cheerleading the charge, but asking the very particular questions and outlining the specifics challenges for a campus like Mayaguez that is predominantly a science, and even more specifically an engineering, school. I can call them “women”, but its a matter of personal preference of what words I use and linguistic appreciation by others. I DO respect women, I DO admire their work and I was happy to know the Congress was organized by women and I’m not “amazed” or “surprised” that they did such a good work.

Me alegra que hayas disfrutado el Congreso. Quiero aclarar que este año no estuve organizando el Congreso. Este año la Dra. Cristina Pomales y un grupo de la Biblioteca (Jaqui, Griselle, entre otros) fueron los responsables de que se convirtiera en realidad. Gracias por el apoyo que siempre nos brindas.
