Apple ha rechazado la aplicación Google Voice Mobile para el iPhone/iPod Touch dando como razón que ésta tiene características que ya existen en sus dispositivos y que sería duplicidad de funciones. Cito el artículo publicado en TechCrunch ayer:
“Earlier today we learned that Apple had begun to pull all Google Voice-enabled applications from the App Store, citing the fact that they “duplicate features that come with the iPhone”. Now comes even worse news: we’ve learned that Apple has blocked Google’s official Google Voice application itself from the App Store. In other words, Google Voice — one of the best things to happen to telephony services in a very long time — will have no presence at all on the App Store. If there’s ever been a time to be furious with Apple, now is it.“
El desarrollador de GV Mobile, decidido a no perder el esfuerzo puesto en el desarrollo de su aplicación, ha decidido ponerla de forma gratuita en Cydia (lo que significa que para descargarla y usarla necesitas tener tu iPhone/iPod “jailbrekeado“). La aplicación debe estar disponible entre hoy y mañana; hay que recordar que para usarla debes estar suscrito a Google Voice, servicio que de momento existe de forma limitada (por invitación), pero que pronto debe estar disponible para todo público. Todavía hoy se puede descargar desde la página de Appulo la versión 1.2.
